I received a complimentary copy of the book and am giving my honest review. The story definitely is a murder mystery, but with a different side than just the detective. There are a lot of medical terms that people won't know and get explained in a way that can be understood. There is more going on that shows character growth, and the comings and goings of the character's life.
I’m usually pretty good at figuring out mysteries but you really got me this time. The right person was very far down on my list.
What a great book, suspenseful all the way. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to more of this authors books.
As a retired nurse I love medical mysteries. This was just what I needed to make my day. Thank you for writing such a wonderful book. I enjoyed every minute of this book. There were a lot of twists and intrigue in the story. You had me completely fooled. Two or three times I thought that I had figured out the who and how. I was completely fooled. If you enjoy an evenly paced mystery story revolving around a well and plausibly thought-out case, then this book is for you.Dr. Kreml's great strength lies in the effortless verisimilitude of her characters -- by very little description and chiefly through their dialogue, I felt as though I knew every one of them.As a medical professional writing about a medical professional, Dr. Kreml steers a straight line, clear of the pitfalls that are the condescending and the confounding ends on the spectrum of specialized knowledge in fiction, and many a reader will be bound to pick up a few informational tidbits along the way, as have I.A lot of promise lies in protagonist Sam Jenkins and it's easy to imagine that she has a long road full of intrigue ahead of her.Tangential note for fellow nerds of the technical side of story: Practically everything in this novel is beautifully on-theme, and the fine thing about that is how it becomes clear only at the end.
